Bert La Bonté played Samuel Edwards in 2023.[1] Samuel is Rose Delaney's father.
Biography[]
Bert was born and raised in Melbourne. The son of parents who'd migrated from Mauritius, he developed a love of acting early on. At the age of nine he played Fagin in a school production of Oliver Twist. After leaving school he studied Performing Arts at the University of Ballarat. Since then he has worked constantly both on stage and on screen. On the stage, he received the Helpmann Award and Sydney Theatre Award for Best Male Actor in a Supporting Role in a Musical in 2012 for his performance in An Officer and a Gentleman. He was also nominated in 2005 for Spelling Bee and again in 2017 for The Book of Mormon. On TV he has had guest roles on many TV shows including Five Bedrooms, NCIS: Sydney, Neighbours, Colin from Accounts, The Newsreader, The Letdown and City Homicide.[2]
