Bridie Carter (born December 18, 1971)[1] has played three separate characters on Home and Away. Her best remembered role on Home and Away is her 2021 turn as crooked estate agent/femme fatale Susie McAllister. Away from Summer Bay, she has had starring roles in some popular Australian TV shows and won Dancing With The Stars in 2007.
Biography[]
Bridie was born in Melbourne and grew up in the city. After leaving school she trained as an actor at NIDA, graduating in 1994. A year later she made her first appearances on Home and Away. She played Toni Jarvis, the editor/lover of Mandy Thomas. In 1999 she returned as Brooke Taylor, who was drawn to Travis Nash because of his uncanny resemblance to her dead fiancé.
In the mid to late 1990s she had roles in G.P., Water Rats, All Saints, Murder Call and some TV movies. In 2000 she played Debbie Curtis in Above the Law. In 2001 she was cast as Tess Silverman McLeod in McLeod's Daughters, going on to appear in 6 seasons of the show. She was nominated for a number of Gold and Silver Logies for this role.[2]
From 2015-2018 she played Jan in the comedy-drama series 800 words.
In 2007 Bridie and her dancing partner Craig Monley won Dancing With The Stars. She and Craig returned to the competition in 2022 but were eliminated.
