Pre Home And Away career[]
Bryan Marshall was born on the 19th May 1938 in Battersea, South London. He trained at the world famous Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (RADA), graduating in 1963. In his native Britain, he went on to appear in many well-known TV shows and films[2]. Some of these included Dr. Finlay's Casebook, The Forsyte Saga, Quatermass and the Pit, Z Cars, The Saint, The Sweeney and Tales of the Unexpected. He also found the time to appear in a James Bond film - 1977's The Spy Who Loved Me - and in cult gangster film The Long Good Friday.
He emigrated to Australia in 1983 and continued to work widely on film and TV. Some of the productions he worked on included BMX Bandits, A Country Practice, Prisoner, Neighbours, Water Rats and Halifax f.p. He was the original host of Australia's Most Wanted which brought his face to a new audience. Although now based in Australia, he continued to spend time in Britain. He was cast on British TV shows such as of Robin of Sherwood, The Bill, Heartbeat and Dalziel and Pascoe and The Knock.
Home And Away[]
Bryan made two guest appearances on Home and Away. Interestingly, both storylines involved him being a love interest of Irene Roberts. In 1998 he played school inspector John Simpson who turned nasty when he was dumped by Irene. In 2003 he played Trevor Bardwell who was a nicer character but who Irene didn't really fancy.
After Home And Away[]
Bryan appeared in Stingers and All Saints amongst other productions. His final appearance was in 2012's A Moody Christmas. He died in June 2019 aged 81.
