Blue heelers

Blue Heelers was a police drama series which ran from 1993 to 2006. It was set in Mount Thomas, a small town in Victoria. Inevitably, over the seasons its main cast changed. Only John Wood and Julie Nihill stayed with the series from beginning to end. Martin Sacks, Lisa McCune, William McInnes and Paul Bishop were some of the other actors who had lengthy stretches in the main cast. The series was one of the highest-rated and most-awarded programs in the history of Australian television. It won 5 Logies and actors John Wood and Lisa McCune got to add some Gold Logies to their mantelpieces. In 2004 the show was revamped, in an attempt to halt the slide in view numbers. It didn't work out and Blue Heelers was cancelled.

Over the show's run, many familiar faces from Home and Away found their way to Mount Thomas. These include Debra Lawrance (Pippa Ross), Ditch Davey (Christian Green), Roger Oakley (Tom Fletcher), Alex Papps (Frank Morgan), John Adam (Luke Cunningham), Bruce Roberts (Nick Parrish), Dennis Coard (Michael Ross), Cathy Godbold (Meg Bowman), Mat Stevenson (Adam Cameron), Nicholas Bishop (Peter Baker) and Robert Mammone (Sid Walker)
