Dannielle "Dannii" Jane Minogue (born 20th October, 1971) is an Australian actress, singer, and TV personality. She played Emma Jackson from 1989 to 1990. Dannii is the younger sister of Kylie Minogue,[1] who, amongst other things, played Charlene Robinson on Neighbours.
Pre Home And Away career[]
Dannii was born in Melbourne. Her mother Carol (née Jones) was originally from Wales and her father Ronald was of Irish descent. As well as her sister Kylie, she has a brother called Brendan. She made her acting debut in 1979 in The Sullivans. She went on to appear in Skyways and Young Talent Time
Home And Away 1989-1990[]
Dannii joined the cast of Home And Away in 1989 as the troubled teen Emma Jackson. Dannii initially auditioned for the role of Marilyn Chambers but as we all know now, Emily Symons landed the part. Dannii's manager Terry Blamey managed to get her another part on the show, and so she made her debut as as Emma Jackson. Dannii left in mid 1990 to concentrate on her singing career. Perhaps as a consequence of her short tenure on Home and Away (just less than a year) her character has been largely forgotten.
After Home And Away[]
Dannii released a number of albums upon leaving H&A such as Dannii and Get Into You.
She has since turned to TV presenting and also does one off gigs. In 2003 she appeared in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, England for a one off concert on the beach, similar to H&A's setting Summer Bay.
Danni was a judge on the UK talent show The X Factor for a number of years. Dannii was also a host on the Australian version of The Masked Singer for its first three seasons.
