Synopsis[]

Michael finally gets the girl
Pippa and Michael walk hand in hand along the beach. Soon, Michael gets down on one knee and asks her to marry him again. This time Pippa says yes, much to his delight (and relief!).
Nick comes home from work with his gun. Marilyn is alarmed because Nick had told her he always kept it at the station. That is usually the case but he has to do a prisoner escort early the next morning. To reassure her, he removes the cartridges and handcuffs the gun to the water pipe under the sink. While he is in the middle of doing this, Marilyn knocks a glass fruit bowl onto the floor and cuts her foot. Nick rushes to help her and doesn't see the handcuffs fall open and the gun dropping into a bag that is underneath.
Sophie and Karen arrive into the diner ahead of their cinema outing with Blake and Mark. Ailsa and Bobby admire Karen's outfit and ask what's the occasion? Bobby and Ailsa are amused and say she'll knock him dead looking like that. When they leave, Bobby and Ailsa laugh about young love. Then the subject turns to slightly older love - Pippa.
Pippa and Michael make it back to her house and already she is talking about volumes of laundry. Michael thinks they shouldn't tell anybody about their engagement until Haydn knows. Pippa agrees with him but says it isn't going to be easy hiding it. They have another snog - suddenly those two can't keep their hands off each other.
We are now treated to the lovely sight of Nick plucking a shard of glass out of the sole of Marilyn's foot. He tells her a story about his sister having an accident with a trowel which may or may not be all true. He seems to be holding onto her foot for rather too long which unnerves Marilyn slightly.
Pippa makes an overdue delivery of cakes to the diner and is soon telling Ailsa that she said yes to Michael. She asks Ailsa to keep it under her hat but their conversation caught Bobby's attention. She manages to wangle the truth out of Ailsa. She rushes out to visit Pippa. Meanwhile, Michael is having no luck getting in contact with Haydn. Pippa apologies for having opened her mouth but assures him that Ailsa won't say anything to anyone. Then Bobby turns up...
The teenagers are back from their trip to the movies and order burgers and chips. Mark tells them he can't stay because he has to finish a school science project. Karen's face falls.
Bobby comes home and falls into a conversation with Nick about Marilyn. Bobby says that underneath that scatterbrain stuff, she's very smart. Nick agrees and wonders why there isn't a guy in her life. Bobby asks him if he's interested? He says no but that if he's living somewhere, he wants to know how things stand. Bobby thinks Marilyn has an admirer but when she says it to her, Maz is alarmed.
Sophie meets Mark before school for a word. He was telling the truth about the science project the night before. He also sort of thought Karen liked him but wasn't sure. Sophie encourages him to ask her out but warns him not to tell Karen she had been speaking to him. Later on, Mark asks Karen out and she says yes. When she starts to think about it, she wonders was Sophie behind it? Sophie says no, she's good but she's not that good!
Pippa talks to a framed photo of Tom. She tells him that he would've really liked Michael. Michael comes in to visit her and she shows him that she has just taken off her wedding ring. He finally gets to put the engagement ring on her finger but she can't wear it until they tell Haydn. It will be spotted a mile off.
Marilyn finishes up breakfast with Nick and somehow manages to tie herself up in knots saying it's great he's not interested in her. Nick opens up the cupboard under the sink to retrieve his gun. It is nowhere to be seen.
