Gary Morrow is the foster father of siblings Cash Newman and the late Felicity. A recurring character, he was first seen in 2022. Gary is played by veteran Aussie actor Peter Phelps.
Backstory[]
Gary and his wife Katherine were close friends of Anthony and Jennifer Newman. In 2006 Anthony committed suicide when his struggling farm was hit hard by a drought. This orphaned his children Cash and Felicity. The Morrows fostered the pair, with mixed results. While Cash had a good relationship with them, Felicity's was more difficult. This was largely fuelled by her refusal to accept that her father had taken his own life. She never settled with the Morrows and left home as soon as she was old enough.
2022-[]
Gary came to visit the Newman's in Summer Bay in 2022. He later patched things up with Felicity and she apologised for the way she had treated him. He travelled to Summer Bay for her wedding to Tane Parata. That day didn't turn out as expected when Felicity was involved in a car crash on the way to it. After Felicity recovered from the crash she went off the rails and was drawn back to the area where she had grown up. Gary took her to see her parents' grave for the first time and she finally made her peace with her past.
Gary returned in 2024 to attend Felicity's funeral. He was also on hand to give Eden Fowler some relationship advice. In the aftermath of Felicity's death, Cash had broken up with her even though they had just got engaged.
