
Gordon Stewart was the father of Alf Stewart, Barbara Fisher, Morag Bellingham, Celia Stewart, Colleen Smart and Debra Stewart. He was never seen on-screen in the present day but was played by Ray Meagher in a flashback in 1950. It is unclear when he died but in 2002, Colleen remarked that he would be about 90 now if still alive.

Gordon Stewart was born in Summer Bay circa 1912, He was the son of Duncan Stewart Snr and his wife. Gordon was the grandson of Scottish immigrant Captain Angus Stewart who had discovered Summer Bay.
Gordon married Sarah Jane Townsend in August 1938 and they went on to have five children: Morag (1941) Alf (1945), Barbara (ca 1946), Celia (1949) and Debra (pick a date any time between 1947 and the 1950s). Just before his wedding, he had an affair with Mavis Hickie. Their daughter Colleen was born in May 1939 but that secret was not revealed for many decades. Gordon served in WWII.
Before Home and Away began in 1988, Gordon and Sarah had left summer Bay to go on an around-the-world trip. After spending some time in Tahiti, they decided to stay there permanently. They wrote a letter to Alf and his sisters, letting them know this.
