John Simpson was a minor character in 1998 and was played by Bryan Marshall
He was a school inspector who visited Summer Bay High. He began to date Irene Roberts but she ended things when she realised he had a controlling nature. Furious, John tried to frame her for stealing school files. Irene was almost prosecuted for it. She was saved when a woman John had sexually harassed came forward. He was later arrested and charged.
