Les Hill (born 1st August 1973 in Paddington, New South Wales, Australia) played main character Blake Dean from 1990 to 1993. He briefly reprised the role in 2002, 2003 and 2005. [1]
Bio[]
Like his altar-ego Blake Dean, Les was a wild child when he was a teenager. So much so, he was asked to leave the high school he had been attending[2]. He turned to acting and in 1989, made his debut in the film Flirting.[3] The film was shot during April and May of 1989 and the then 15 year-old Les was required to film a shower scene completely naked. He also played one of the main roles in Pirates Island which was released in 1991.
Home and Away[]

Blake and Meg
Hill joined the cast of Home and Away playing the role of Blake Dean. He said this helped him make friends in the acting business. Les became one of Home and Away's biggest stars and a teenage pinup. Blake's doomed romance with the terminally ill Meg Bowman (played by the late Cathy Godbold) became a well-remembered storyline. Meg's death in Blake's arms became an iconic moment from the show's early years. Les left Home and Away in 1993. He returned in 2002, 2003 and 2005. During his return visits his character rekindled his teenage romance with Sophie Simpson.
After Home and Away.[]
After leaving Home and Away, Les moved to the UK for a time. He became one of the presenters on the children's TV show Go Getters and appeared in panto.
Back in Australia, he had guest roles in Pacific Island, Water Rats and Wildside. In 2008 he was cast as Jason Moran in the original series of Underbelly. This proved to be a career renaissance for him. In 2009 he was cast as one of the leads in the drama series Rescue Special Ops (2009-2011). One of his co-stars on the series was Daniel Amalm, another familiar face from Home and Away. Les reprised the role of Jason Moran in Fat Tony & Co (2014) and appeared in archive footage in 2020's Informer 3838.
More recently, Les played Max Saliba in the 2nd and 3rd series of Wonderland. In 2018 he played the father of the title character in Patricia Moore. Most recently he played a detective in the series One Night.
