Margaret Lynch

Margaret Lynch arrived in Summer Bay in 1991 as a new teacher at Summer Bay High School. Transferred to the Bay against her will, she was still dealing with the death of her daughter Kelly and the break-up of her marriage. She moved into the Beach House with Marilyn, Nick and Bobby. Margaret's late daughter bore an uncanny resemblance to Sophie and because of this, she gave her more attention than she should have. This creeped Sophie out and caused a lot of friction between the pair of them.

Margaret finally realised what she was doing and told Sophie the truth. They made their peace and became friendly. Sophie confided in her when she was having trouble with her foster sister Tracey.

She decided to move back to the city and took a job that a friend had been offering her for ages. Before leaving, she took Sophie for a day's shopping and bought her an outfit that she admired in a shop.

She was played by Gennie Nevinson.
