Mervin Baldivis was a minor character in Home And Away in 1988. He was a local councillor and a distant cousin of Roo Stewart. Mervin was played by Peter Boswell.

Mervin Baldivis also called just Mr. Baldivis was born in about 1925 (Baldivis is a Hispanic surname). He later became a councillor.
1988[]
In January 1988, Donald Fisher tried to talk Mervin out of giving Tom Fletcher a job on the road gang. In February 1988, Tom met Mervin at Hogan's General Store and asked if he could get a job on the road gang. He was secured one. This did not last as Tom warred with his tyrannical boss Sam Barlow.
In February 1988, Don enlisted Mervin's help in trying to get autistic Nico Pappas sectioned.
After a few mentions, by late 1988 Mervin was not seen of heard from again. He may have retired or moved away.
As of 2021, it is likely he has passed away or is retired. He would be about 96 in 2021.

Alf Stewart's first wife, Martha Stewart had "died" in 1985. Her maiden name was Baldivis. However, the writers never meant for Mervin to be the father of Martha, just a cousin, at least Merv was still a relative. Martha's dad was Jack Baldivis, probably a cousin or second cousin of Mervin.
