"Neighbours" is a Australian international successful soap opera/serial. It was first broadcast on the Seven Network on 18 March 1985. It was created by TV executive Reg Watson, who was best known for having created the highly popular serial Sons and Daughters, he proposed the idea of making a show that was based in a suburbian location and focused on realistic stories that portrayed adults and teenagers who talk openly and solve their problems together. After the show was cancelled on Seven, it was taken over by Network Ten, and currently airs locally on that station's digital channel Ten Peach.
