Revhead, during his brief time as a gainfully employed citizen.
Maurice Henry "Revhead" Gibson was a character in Home And Away from 1988 to 1991. He was a recurring character, though he had a significantly longer third spell on the show in 1991.
Backstory[]
According to Maurice/Revhead, he was a good kid until his family were involved in a bad car accident. It killed his mother and paralysed his sister Julie. The loss of his mother and the after-effects of the accident led to him going off the rails. His father Alec gave most of his attention to Julie and he acted out to get some attention.
1988-1991[]
Revhead was first was first seen in 1988 when he hassled Steven Matheson and Narelle Smart. He made a bigger nuisance of himself on that same night with Roo Stewart, Bobby Simpson and Carly Morris. The girls were rescued by Adam Cameron who was new to the area. As revenge, he and his friend wrecked Adam's yacht, forcing him to stay in Summer Bay. He later caused trouble for Emma Jackson and Viv Newton, attempting to blackmail them over a minor car accident.
In 1991, he was hired by Michael Ross to work at his boat shed. Despite being a hard working employee and appearing to be on his way towards being a responsible citizen, Revhead's dark side soon resurfaced. He was banned from driving after Nick Parrish spotted him driving recklessly. Then Nick befriended Julie, who he was very protective of. To stop their friendship in its tracks, he tried to frame Nick for bribery. He only told the truth to the police when Julie threatened to leave the home they shared and to move away. Shortly afterwards, Revhead's dad died suddenly.

In that same year, he began a relationship with Karen Dean. Alf and Ailsa Stewart were horrified and did everything they could to try and stop her seeing Revhead. It didn't work. Karen moved in with Revhead and the pair began to make plans to move away from Summer Bay. In order to get enough money, they turned to burglary. An attempted robbery on Alf's store went wrong when he showed up unexpectedly. Revhead hit him on the head and knocked him out. Alf wasn't his only victim during this time - he assaulted a security guard in the city and put him in hospital.
Revhead made contact with Karen. They decided that she would steal Haydn and Blake's car and that she would meet him with it. Karen was a terrible driver and all she succeeded in doing was colliding with David Croft's car, killing him. When Revhead found out what had happened, he was furious and threw her out of his house. When he was arrested, he sang like a canary and that led to Karen being sent to a detention centre.
He first appeared in Episode 152 (16 August 1988). Revhead was played by A Country Practice star Gavin Harrison.
