Romeo Smith
Todd "Romeo" Smith was a main character from 2009-2013. He was played by Luke Mitchell.
Backstory[]
Romeo and his sister Mink grew up in an unhappy home. Their mother Jill Carpenter was an alcoholic and their stepfather was abusive. Romeo spent some time in a children's home, where he befriended Jai Fernandez. He was later fostered. It was later revealed that Jill killed her husband but that Mink took the fall for it.
2009 - 2013[]
Romeo came to Summer Bay in September 2009 (Episode 4939) in search of Jai. He was then taken in by Miles Copeland, who was Jai's foster father. Gina Austin persuaded him to go back to school. On the day of his arrival, he met Annie Campbell and was attracted to her. Things got complicated when it turned out that Annie was a recent ex of Jai's and that he wanted her back. Romeo eventually did get the girl for a while, though not without a convoluted storyline involving Jai. It didn't last and Annie moved to Japan.
When Romeo's sister Mink was released from juvenile detention, she came to the Bay in search of him. Shortly afterwards, their mother Jill arrived. She had fallen in for a large sum of money after the death of her husband and was doing a good job of drinking it all.
