Backstory[]
Roxy was the daughter of Les and Carol Bagley. When she was just a few weeks old, Les walked out on his family. Roxanne was given up for adoption and ended up being raised by David and Pauline Miller. She tracked her biological father Les down in 1990, but he wanted nothing to do with her. Although Roxanne enjoyed working as a sculptor, her career as an artist never took up. Instread she worked in a café in The City.
1992-1995[]
Roxy was first seen in October 1992 when her half-brother Blake Dean tracked her down to her workplace. He had got help from their uncle Kevin Bagley, who was estranged from Les. Les had made it clear he wasn't happy that Blake wanted to find his sister but he turned downright hostile after the pair reuinted. He started harassing her. Blake, who had by now figured out that his father wasn't a good person, cut contact with him. He and Roxy decided to come to Summer Bay, even though Blake and Alf had fallen out. They soon patched things up and Roxanne moved in with Alf and Ailsa Stewart. Although Roxy still harboured ambitions of being a professional sculptor, that soon fell by the wayside. She took a job working in Alf's store and sometimes helped out in the Bayside Diner. Roxanne briefly dated Nick Parrish but that soon fizzled out. Roxanne went on to take a job teaching in the school.
In 1993 Roxanne began to date newcomer Luke Cunningham who was also a teacher at the school. Their relationship was rocky and they seemed to spend a lot of time squabbling. Later in the year (Ep 1214), Roxanne's adoptive sister Imogen came to visit. It soon became evident that Imogen wasn't who Roxy thought she was. She tried to seduce Luke but he turned down her advances. Imogen also began to undermine Roxy, doing things such as hiding/unhiding a blouse, stealing exam papers and sabotaging cakes she'd made and tickets she'd organised. When Roxy finally confronted Imogen, she learned that her sister hated her and was only sorry she'd been caught out.
Roxanne and Luke finally broke up but by now they were living together in the Beach House. Luke impulsively resigned from his teaching job and was replaced by dashing substitute teacher James Hudson. Within about 5 minutes of meeting the new arrival, Roxanne and James were an item. He moved into the Beach House, theoretically to help split the rent with Luke. In reality, they just couldn't keep their hands off each other. James then got Luke's job on a pemanent basis. Not that it mattered in the end. Roxanne and James's relationship burned out almost as quickly as it had ignited and he moved on.
In 1994 Roxanne met local handyman Rob Storey and sparks flew between them. Memorably, they got trapped in a lift in a shopping centre in Yabbie Creek and were rescused hours later stripped down to their underwear and covered in sweat. Despite the sniggers from the locals, no funny business had happened in the lift. They got together but as with her previous relationship with Luke, things were mostly rocky. In early 1995 Roxanne was diagnosed with breast cancer. She move away to The City to continue her treatment and never returned. She broke up with Rob and eventually ended up in Greece.
