Sarah Jane Stewart (nee Townsend) was an unseen character. She was the mother of Alf Stewart and his 4 siblings Morag Bellingham, Celia Stewart, Debra Stewart and Barbara Fisher. At some point before Home and Away began in 1988, Sarah and her husband Gordon embarked on an around the world trip. They liked Tahiti so much, they decided to stay there permanently. Celia visited them off-screen.
