Sasha Bezmel

Sasha Bezmel is the daughter of Sid Walker and Regina Bezmel. She's the youngest half-sister of Dex and Indigo Walker. She was a main character who made her first appearance in episode 5373 (31 August 2011). She departed on 1 April 2015 (Episode 6162). She was played by Demi Harman.

Backstory

Sasha and her half-brother Felix were raised by their mother Regina. After Regina died, Felix went to live with his father Shawn. Sasha decided to move to Summer Bay and get to know her long-lost father Sid.

2011-2015

Leah Patterson-Baker offered Sasha a job at the Pier Diner. Shortly afterwards Felix ran away from home and came to Summer Bay in search of his sister. When a storm passed through Summer Bay, the pair took refuge in John Palmer's house. Sasha found John collapsed on the floor and rang Sid, who sent an ambulance. She hid Felix out in the local school where he was injured by a rock thrown through a window. Sasha stole money from the diner till to support them but was caught. Roo Stewart convinced Sasha to hand over the money and gave her a second chance. Felix then returned to live with his father again, with the promise that things would get better.

Sasha began to date River Boy Stu Henderson much to Sid's disapproval. He later relented when he realised that Sasha was going to continue seeing him anyway. Things seemed to go well for the couple and she was delighted when Stu told her that he loved her. Then Stu began to show his nasty side and hit her for not replying to his text messages. This kicked off a cycle of Stu hitting her and Sasha forgiving him. Eventually Stu was found dead and it was revealed that Sasha had accidentally killed him while fending him off. He fell and cracked his head off a rock. Nonetheless Sasha went on trial for his murder but was found innocent.

Sasha had a brief romance with Xavier Austin but then developed feelings for Casey Braxton. She lost her virginity to him and then they had a pregnancy scare. She briefly found herself caught up in a love triangle when Tamara Kingsley came to Summer Bay. Casey ultimately chose Tamara over Sasha which upset her.

In 2013 Sasha befriended Rosie Pritchard but that friendship turned toxic. Rosie became possessive of Sasha and in one incident, tried to attract her attention by running into the surf. While trying to help Rosie, Sasha nearly drowned. She asked Rosie for space but instead, was blanked. Still, Sasha and Spencer Harrington supported Rosie after she was raped. She and Spencer grew close and began to date. They tried to keep their relationship secret from Spencer's ex-girlfriend Maddy Osborne but she found out anyway. When Sid was offered a job in Broken Hill, he decided to move on from Summer Bay. Sasha moved into the Beach House with Irene Roberts. The MacGuire family moved into her old home - the Farmhouse.

In 2014 Sasha and Tamara fought over who would be school captain. Tamara won out and their classmate Matt Page became the male school captain. Matt asked Sasha to help him write a speech for assembly and she agreed to help. While writing the speech, they had a moment and Matt kissed her. Spencer was angry when he found out and it led to their break up. Sasha realised that she really liked Matt but frustratingly, she realised he hadn't been to school for some days. She sneaked into Leah's office to find Matt's home address and tracked him down. It turned out he hadn't been back to school because he was taking care of his sick sister Ellie. Their father was in prison so there was nobody else to help. Matt decided to quit school and find a job so he could help his sister. One night while cleaning up at the diner, Matt and Ellie called in. Matt confessed that the Docs wanted to take Ellie away. He decided it would be for the best but was devastated. Sasha and Matt got together and he moved in with Leah

In 2015 Sasha left the Bay to attend university.
